Principal Message

Dear Students and Families,

My name is Kenny Wright and I am the principal of Richland Junior High. I have been in education for 19 years. The first nine were in Arvin at Bear Mountain Elementary were I taught both 3rd and 5th grade. This is my 10th year in the Richland School District and my fourth year at RJH. I started out here as a teacher in 6th grade. Ten years ago was the last time the district housed the 6th graders at the Junior High. My second year as a teacher, 6th grade was moved from the Junior High to the elementary school sites so they were able to remodel RJH. I spent my next 4 years as a sixth-grade teacher at Sequoia Elementary. Then I was hired to be the assistant principal of Sequoia. I spent two years as assistant principal at Sequoia before I moved to RJH as the assistant principal. This year I was hired to be the principal of RJH and it's an honor to be here.  It is also an honor to work with so many amazing students.

Our staff is second to none and has one objective and that is to educate our students. We believe that our students are our future and that we need to educate them for their future. We believe that the leaders of tomorrow will be the students who walked through the doors of Richland Junior High. We are going to have an amazing year and we are going to do amazing things. We believe that we are partners in education with the parents of our students and encourage parents to get involved.

I look forward to working with you and your child throughout the school year to provide a productive and safe learning environment that supports student success.  This is going to be a great year!

Go Trojans!!!

Kenny Wright
